If the minimalistic, no-makeup for summer look is so you, prep your skin with a luminescent moisturiser and do three things: highlight your brows with a light brown eyebrow pencil, add a nude pink hint of colour on the lips and a dewy highlighter smeared along the browbone, nose and upper cheeks to catch the sunlight when it hits your face.

Wear vibrant, summery dresses with intense, eye-popping plum red lips and a subtle winged cat eye in an oceanic blue tint. Add to the equation big wavy hair: smooth a volumising mousse through strands, tie up sections of hair in tightly twisted knots and spritz with hairspray before releasing the knots. Top it off with a straw fedora to look primed for hot days ahead.

MIDSUMMER NIGHTS

Rock the sizzling summer night out look with a smoky bronze eye and lashings of brown mascara. Pare down the look to keep it light and summery with a nude lip, clean skin and an airy white top, or if out on a hot date amp it up a little by creating soft, touchable curls by shaking hair out with your fingers after curling with a curling iron.

PRETTY IN PINK

If hot, humid weather does not permit wearing too much makeup, the one thing that will not slide off your face in any kind of heat is lip colour; opt for a scorching fuchsia shade that matches just about any skin tone (as opposed to candy floss pink). Set it to pop against a smidge of bronzer, undone, messy waves and a bright top in an offsetting colour.
